Daniel Brenna

Daniel Brenna, tenor, is in his final year of the Opera Institute at Boston University where he has performed the roles of Don José in the Bizet/Brook La Tragédie de Carmen, as well as Lysander and Albert Herring in Britten’s operas A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Albert Herring. His upcoming roles will include Haimon in the world premiere staging of Merryman’s Antigone and the Tenor in Dominick Argento’s Postcard from Morocco.

Next Summer, Daniel will return to the Opera Theatre of St. Louis for his third season in the Ensemble and will sing Gastone in La Traviata. In the past year, he made his debuts with the Boston Lyric Opera as Don Curzio in Le Nozze de Figaro and with Glimmerglass Opera as Lennie Small in a touring production of Carlisle Floyd’s Of Mice and Men. A devoté of Handel’s music, he has sung several concerts of The Messiah and was acclaimed for his portrayal of Grimoaldo in Rodelinda. Last year, Mr. Brenna sang in Bernstein’s Songfest with the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra under the baton of Seiji Ozawa.
